Metal Mask
Kyosha achieves high precision and high density print with its unique metal mask technique.
Kyosha provides 4 different types of metal masks according to its required accuracy and how well a soldering paste passes through the mask.
Laser metal mask
Laser metal mask is made by laser cut process. It has excellent registration accuracy.
Characteristics
● Quick delivery
● Excellent registration accuracy (compared to the etching or the additive method)
● Smooth cutting surface (compared to the etching method)
Subtractive metal mask
Subtractive metal mask is made by the etching method. Stainless steel is used as a material.
Characteristics
| ● | It has a slight tapered edge to easily release a soldering. (about 20~30 micron meter for 200 micron meter board thickness) |
|---|
Additive metal mask
Additive metal mask is made by the nickel-plating method. It has excellent accuracy and is suitable for fine applications such as QFP.
Characteristics
| ● | Regardless of the width, each opening can be controlled exactly as the film specifies. (±5 micron meter) |
|---|---|
| ● | The thickness of the metal can be specified up to 0.2mm. |
| ● | Soldering paste passes through this mask very well. |
Fluorine metal mask
Fluorine metal mask has a fluorine coating on the mask surface and the opening areas. The fluorine coating makes it significantly easier for the soldring paste to pass through the mask. The fluorine coating can be applied to Laser metal mask, Subtractive metal mask and Additive metal mask.
Characteristics
● Soldering paste passes through this mask extremely well.
● It decreases soldering paste run. (It decreases soldering bridges.)
● It decreases the inconsistency of paste thickness after printing a soldering paste.
● It significantly decreases the frequency of cleaning the metal mask.
Specifications
● Thickness of fluorine coating 10 ~15 micron meter
● Process only on printed side
